The UDP has decided to lodge a complaint with the Election Commission regarding the alleged release of Chief Minister’s Special Development Fund (CMSDF) to a candidate of the NPP from North Shillong constituency.
Informing this today, UDP general secretary Allantry F. Dkhar said that work orders were released by the development branch of the Deputy Commissioner’s office on January 18.
According to Dkhar, there were nine work orders released for North Shillong and one for West Shillong.
“The developmental works as per the work orders were to be implemented in various Dorbar Shnong of the two constituencies. But in the work orders, copies were also marked to Ransom Sutnga who is the candidate of NPP from North Shillong,” Dkhar said.
“We have decided to lodge a formal complaint to the Chief Electoral Officer as this release of the CMSDF schemes by the Chief Minister to his own party candidate has given an undue advantage to the candidate and is unjustified,” the UDP general secretary.
