In the wake of the Mukroh firing that killed six people, the UDP today has postponed the announcement of the first list of candidates for the 2023 Assembly elections.
UDP president and Assembly Speaker Metbah Lyngdoh told the party gathering here today attended by party leaders and ticket aspirants that the announcement of the first batch of candidates has been postponed in view of the firing incident.
He also said that the party’s decision was to express solidarity with the victims and people of Mukroh which falls under Mowkaiaw constituency represented by UDP legislator Nujorki Sungoh.
