A mentor development programme for entrepreneurs under Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) scheme under the Ministry of MSME and supported by World Bank was launched today.
The second batch of the programme was launched by the Directorate of Commerce & Industries, Meghalaya at the Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Centre for Policy Research Analysis, Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Shillong.
Joint Director of Commerce & Industries M. L. Wanshnong who inaugurated the four-day program urged participants from all the 12 districts of the state to extract knowledge and get acquainted with the latest business technologies. He said the training would also enable them to provide value addition in their business products and services.
The joint director also stressed on the importance of market access, technology adoption and financial sustainability gaps for entrepreneurs.
Deputy Director (Marketing) I. Z. Wreang also laid emphasis on the importance of entrepreneurs and their role as one of the backbones of Meghalaya’s economy.
General Manager, District Commerce & Industries Centre, A. Malngiang exhorted the participants to put maximum effort to learn from the experts of IIM Shillong and to share their experiences with others to build sustainable business ecosystems in their respective districts.
Dr. Sanjeev Ningombam, Faculty of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Centre for Policy Research delivered the keynote address briefing the participants about the course content of the programme.
