The office of the District Legal Service Authority organised a two-day training workshop for paralegal volunteers.
The aim of the training was to further enlighten the volunteers with a basic knowledge of law, legislation and welfare measures.
B Khriam, District Sessions Judge and Chairperson of the District Legal Service Authority, addressed the paralegals on their duties and responsibilities and urged them to continue performing them efficiently.
The volunteers were also enlightened on the fundamental rights, duties and responsibilities of citizens to the community. Further they were addressed on the basic criminal laws, laws relating to women and children by B Lyngdoh, legal aid counsel.
