The waheh shnong of Khimmusniang said the water sourced from Myntdu river is clean during the winter season but gets polluted in the summer months with the onset of rain and wanton sand and stone mining as well as road construction.
Village elder J.M Pohsngap said the PHE could source the water from the Umngot river in the summer season, which is comparatively cleaner that the waters of Myntdu.
Another elder, G.H. Bareh urged the residents to join hands in keeping the Myntdu river clean by not dumping any waste or garbage.
