North-Eastern Hill University (NEHU) is yet to declare the results of the BSc (Bachelor of Science) fifth semester examinations, much to the chagrin of the students.
Many students have applied for masters’ courses in various universities across the country, but the delay on the part of the NEHU authorities has jeopardised the chances of the many bright students getting admission.
“Their fifth semester examinations ended in March. But it’s surprising that even after three months the results have not been declared,” one concerned parent said.
The parent informed that his daughter had applied to several universities outside Meghalaya and if results are not declared by the third week of June, then she will have to give up her seat.
“To get provisional admission, the universities have asked us to submit the fifth semester marksheet. But we have not been able to do so as yet,” the aggrieved parent said.
NEHU’s delay is not a new headache, unfortunately. This parent also said that every year the delay in publishing the results have deprived many students of the opportunity to pursue higher studies.
“I can’t afford for my daughter to lose a year and I urge the NEHU authorities to declare the BSc results as soon as possible,” the parent pleaded.
