Shillong, May 30: A tuberculosis (TB) and non-communicable diseases (NCD) screening campaign was held at the Betasing block office on Friday, aiming to enhance health awareness and promote early detection among residents.
The programme was organised by the health department in collaboration with the block administration to foster early detection of TB and various NCDs, ensure timely treatment, and provide valuable information regarding major health issues affecting the community.
Besides the screening, participants were educated about the symptoms of TB and NCDs, enabling them to recognise potential health risks early, maintaining healthy lifestyle practices, proper nutrition, physical activity, and adherence to treatment for those diagnosed with chronic conditions.
The programme witnessed active participation from government employees, frontline workers, and local residents.
