Santa Mary Shylla, the National People’s Party (NPP) MLA representing Sutnga Saipung, today called upon all party members and supporters to uphold discipline and refrain from disrupting gatherings organised by other political factions.
During a public assembly held in Iawmusiang, Jowai, Shylla criticised the alleged interference by opposition Voice of the People Party (VPP) supporters, reportedly causing disturbances at NPP gatherings in Umsning and Shillong.
The public meeting also featured other political heavyweights from Jaintia Hills, including Deputy Chief Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar, Jowai MLA Wailadmiki Shylla and members of the Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC), all in a concerted push to garner support for the NPP’s Lok Sabha candidate Ampareen Lyngdoh.
Wailadmiki also condemned yesterday’s stone throwing incident on the residence of Umsning MDC Macdalyn Sawkmie Mawlong while a party meeting was going on.
