Shillong, Oct 12: The suspect in last week’s murder of a 13-year-old girl in Ri-Bhoi was taken back to the scene of the crime for a walk-through as part of the investigative process.
Iainehskhem Kharsati was arrested in connection with the crime on Saturday. Kharsati was led on the walk-through by Senior Superintendent of Police VS Rathore and Additional SP Orville Massar.
The police took the accused to the area where he allegedly committed the crime, accompanied by a team from the Forensic Crime Scene Unit. This step aims to reconstruct the events surrounding the murder and gather further evidence.
Police have said that Kharsati has confessed to committing the crime. The victim went missing on Thursday morning and her body was discovered that same evening.
