Chief Minister Conrad Sangma today announced that the State government will launch a skill development programme called, ‘One Skill One Talent’.
The announcement was made during the inauguration of the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana (DDU-GKY) Residential Training Center of the Universal Ideal Sewa Samiti (UISS) at Dakopgre, Tura.
Informing that there are a large number of skill development programs across the country imparting training to the youth in the field of IT, soft skills, communication, etc. with placement opportunities, the chief minister said Meghalaya will also launch the programme to cater to youth between January and February.
Urging the trainees to be attentive and well disciplined while undergoing the skill development training, the chief minister assured to provide all the necessary help and support to the DDU-GKY.
West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner, Ram Singh urged students to go to other places and come back with ideas and skills so that they can start their own enterprises.
The CEO of SIRD, JC Lohani, highlighted the achievements of the DDU-GKY in Meghalaya and informed that the training centre will be imparting on Basic IT, soft skills, communication, etc.
Director of UISS, Deepak Tiwari was also present on the occasion.
The chief minister also inaugurated the Green Computer Labs and Smart Class-rooms at Bidanchi High School and Dobasipara High School and Apollo Clinic in Tura.
