A BJP delegation led by State President Rikman Momin and cabinet minister Alexander L Hek called on Shillong Archdiocese, Archbishop Victor Lyngdoh to invite him to the consecration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
The state BJP leaders said the Archbishop has expressed his keenness to visit the Ram Mandir and extended his blessings for the auspicious occasion.
Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh is going to witness one of the biggest ceremonies in recent years in the form of Ram temple consecration. The ceremony will be held on January 22.
The ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony of the new idol of Ram Lalla at the sanctum sanctorum of the Ram temple is set to be performed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Many other dignitaries, including sportspersons, will also attend the event.
The high-profile event will be telecast live across many cities in India. The central government has announced a half-day off for its employees on January 22 so that they can attend the ceremony.
