The Meghalaya SSA School Association (MSSASA) held a general meeting at Student Field, Jaiaw to discuss key issues affecting SSA teachers.
President Aristotle C Rymbai disclosed the minutes of five meetings with the government regarding the association’s demand to merge SSA teachers into the State Education Department.
Rymbai emphasized the need for a single management system under the Education Department, eliminating differences between SSA and government schools.
He also discussed the proposal for the Meghalaya Education Grant (MEG) scheme, which aims to combine grants for aid schools.
He said that the state government has been given until May 31 to submit their views and suggestions on the proposal.
