The All Meghalaya SSA Non-Teaching Staffs Association (AMSSANTSA) will launch its indefinite sit-in-demonstration from tomorrow in the city.
The AMSSANTSA said it was forced to resort to agitation as the State government failed to enhance the salary of SSA non-teaching employees in the State which has been pending since 2016.
It also recalled the reply of Education Minister Rakkam A. Sangma in the State Assembly in 2023 where he had informed that the Education Department had already sent the file relating to the proposal for enhancing the salary of SSA non-teaching staff to the Finance Department.
Stating that till date nothing has been done in this regard, the association accused Sangma of making a false promise “just to fool the members of the State Assembly”.
