The Khasi Department of Shillong College will organise a webinar on ‘Ka Jaitbynriew Hynñiew Trep Ha Ka Jingïaid Lynti Ba 50 Snem’ (Hynñiew Trep in its 50-year Journey) to commemorate 50 years of Meghalaya’s statehood on December 9 and 10 from 9 am onwards at the conference hall of Shillong College.
The chief guest on the occasion is Pyniaid Sing Syiem, MLA of Mawryngkneng constituency. The keynote address will be given by Prof. L S Gassah, former teacher of Political Science at North Eastern Hill University.
On the inaugural day, the first session of the webinar will be addressed by academician Dr. Bajubon Roy Kharlukhi and former bureaucrat Toki Blah.
The second session will be addressed by leading historian Dr. (Rev.) O L Snaitang, Khasi Authors’ Society president Prof. D R L Nonglait and former MLA Ardent M. Basaiawmoit.
On December 10, the first session of the webinar will be addressed by academician Dr. M P R Lyngdoh, traditional heads leader John F. Kharshiing and columnist Morning S. Sumer.
The second session will be addressed by expert on Khasi culture Dr. Fabian Lyngdoh and Josaiah Lyngdoh.
