Shad Sohjer, a traditional celebration of the people of Raid Marwet in Ri-Bhoi, concluded today.
The festival gives thanks to god for the harvest. It began on January 17, the first time in three years since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic that it was able to be held, and was closed today by traditional head of Raid Marwet, Ken Syiem, who administered the offering to god.
Others present at the closing ceremony were the Basan of Hima Mylliem, Nathaniel Thangkhiew, Myntri K Langstieh and headmen and local people of the Raid.
