Seven people, including three children, were injured after a local cab toppled off the road into a 20 meters gorge while proceeding from Riangdo to Mawthawpdah in South West Khasi Hills district.
According to the police, the accident happened yesterday around 7.30 pm when a local taxi bearing the registration number ML 06 2696, driven by one Primus Lyngkhoi (40) from West Khasi Hills fell into a gorge.
The other injured persons have been identified as Ailanda Lyngkhoi (38), Plin Lyngdoh Nonglait (42), Treibormi Lyngdoh (30), and three children — Naphiwanbiang Lyngkhoi (1), Shanborlang Lyngdoh (4) and Rosemary Lyngdoh (3).
The driver, along with three adults, has been shifted to CHC Mawkyrwat for medical treatment while the three children were discharged after administering first aid.
