The All Selsella NGOs’ Alliance has written to the West Garo Hills District Medical and Health Officer to appeal for a full time, full fledged ultrasound technician for Selsella Community Health Centre.
The NGOs found that there is an ultrasound technician posted at the facility but this person only works in conducting ultrasounds of pregnant women. However, patients suffering abdominal pain, etc, are also often in need of ultrasounds and have to travel elsewhere to get them done.
Meanwhile, it was brought to the NGOs’ attention that there is no Upper Division Assistant at the CHC, which is hampering the administration of the health centre.
