The Meghalaya government has asked security agencies to strengthen vigilance along the 443-km-long international border with Bangladesh in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack.
Deputy Chief Minister in charge home Prestone Tynsong today said that the government has had meetings with BSF and both the central and state wherein the state’s security apparatus was discussed.
“We are on the same page and will ensure the international boundary is secured to meet all challenges if any infiltration takes places. We are fully in operation as far as the international border is concerned,” Tynsong said.
On the unfenced portion of the international border, the Deputy Chief Minister said the government is working closely with village authorities and the village defence party.
