The Sohra Sub-Divisional Magistrate Hema Nayak has imposed Section 144 CrPC at Dainthlen and Wei-Sawdong waterfalls and its adjoining areas to prevent untoward incidents arising out of a dispute between three villages.
According to the order, there has been a continuous dispute between Mawphu, Laitduh and Umblai villages over the ownership of land/ areas falling under Dainthlen and Wei Sawdong.
The order was necessitated as the administration foresees a breakdown of law and order in the coming days.
The order prohibits opening of the tourist spots, assembly of more than five persons and carrying of weapons or items which can be used as a weapon, parking of vehicles along the stretch of road from Dainthlen to Wei-Sawdong.
