Shillong, Sep 6: The national-level integrated workshop on ‘Mission LiFE’ (Lifestyle for Environment) and self defence, organised by the national headquarters of the Bharat Scouts and Guides, was held in Shillong and concluded yesterday.
The Meghalaya Bharat Scouts and Guides hosted the event at the state headquarters here.
The workshop began on September 1 with 70 participants from across lndia in attendance to empower and educate them with crucial information on the challenges and need for a shift in individuals to practise simple environmental actions in their daily lives to benefit the environment at large.
The core idea was to shift the climate change narrative from a top-down government policy to bottom-up personal responsibility, transforming individuals into ‘pro-planet people’, S Syiem, the Senior Environment Engineer of the Meghalaya State Pollution Control Board said in the valedictory programme.
