A team of 100 students and teachers from Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Niangbari, Ri-Bhoi and KV Khanapara visited the IFS (integrated farming system) demonstration site of the KVK Ri-Bhoi yesterday under the NICRA project in Liarkhla and Thadnongiaw villages.
The team was coordinated by Meghna Sarma along with NICRA, SRFs and programme assistants from the FPO. The students were briefed about the different IFS models implemented in farmers’ fields, which is a viable option to produce diverse food in large quantities.
They were also exposed to different units of IFS, like fishery, piggery, poultry, goatery, duckery units, crop enterprise, etc.
