Shillong, Aug 16: The Sanshnong Cluster Level Federation (CLF), operating under the Block Mission Management Unit (BMMU) of Wapung Block in East Jaintia Hills District, was nationally recognised for its exceptional work in community-led development.
The CLF is supported by the Meghalaya State Rural Livelihoods Society (MSRLS), C&RD Department.
The CLF was awarded the second prize in the “Best Federation (Below 5 Years)” category at the national level. This recognition celebrates the CLF’s impactful role in Federation-led Inclusive Development.
After the award ceremony, which was held in New Delhi on August 14, one of the CLF leaders met Union Minister of Rural Development, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, and shared her inspiring journey from a Self-Help Group (SHG) member to becoming a successful entrepreneur, known as a “Lakhpati Didi,” and a CLF leader.
Her story, along with the Federation’s collective efforts, highlighted the effectiveness of the National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM) model and inspired many.
