Acting on a tip-off, the Ri-Bhoi police made another large seizure of heroin in the district, this time amounting to Rs 4.8 crore.
The consignment was being transported in a Meghalaya-registered car (ML 05 S 9485) from Manipur to Shillong when it was seized by police at Byrnihat. One person was arrested.
The man arrested was identified as Simtekhan Tluanga from Manipur.
In this connection, a case has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
