A day-long training programme was organised by the KVK Ri-Bhoi in Purdwa village today for 30 farmers.
The programme was conducted by Meghna Sarma, an expert in agronomy at the KVK. She spoke about the use of natural farming practices for sustainable hill cultivation.
Farmers were lectured on the four pillars of natural farming and their importance to improve livelihoods. A hands-on demonstration of Jeevamrit (natural liquid fertiliser), Beejamrit (organic pesticide), Panchagavya (cow-derived mixture) and Neemastra (neem-based pesticide).
Seed distribution was also carried out along with the distribution of leaflets on natural farming in the local language.
