NEEPCO continues to be in the news, all for the wrong reasons.
According to sources, NEEPCO Chairman and Managing Director (CMD), Vinod Kumar Singh who retired on May 31 has not vacated his office.
It was also informed that Singh was seen in office today performing official duty even though he was not expected to do so since he has retired from service.
Sources said that Singh during most of his tenure as the top boss of NEEPCO was never seen in the corporation’s headquarters here and performed his duty from the NEEPCO branch office in Guwahati.
In the recent past, several groups from the State including the KSU have tried to meet Singh in the NEECO headquarter here but he was never found.
Now questions are being raised as to how a retired official of none other than a public sector undertaking of the Central government can still attend duty and perform official works.
