Plying of heavy vehicles along the Jakrem- Ranikor road has been restricted.
The South West Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner said due to the cyclonic storm and heavy rainfall that occurred recently in the district, the road has collapsed, which resulted in a further narrowing of the road width.
Restriction imposed to heavy vehicles is to avoid any unwanted mishaps which may likely to occur in future, he said, adding that restoration work is currently in progress.
