The Ri-Bhoi Youth Federation (RBYF) managed to prevent an unholy stink after its Umpih unit and Umsning circle caught certain individuals in the process of dumping a consignment of rotten eggs on the Umsning Bypass.
The Uttar Pradesh-registered truck (UP 21 CN 7756) was in the process of disgorging its foul cargo when RBYF members intervened. The pressure group was thus able to halt the continued dumping of rotten eggs and ensured that those that had already been discarded were cleaned up.
Speaking to the media, Balakmenlang Nongbri, the RBYF president of the Umsning circle, expressed firm opposition to the act of thoughtless waste disposal on the road.
This incident, according to the RBYF, was not an isolated occurrence as it has encountered multiple instances of waste disposal along the roadside.
