The District Legal Services Authority of East Jaintia Hills today organized a rally for legal awareness to mark the conclusion of the Pan India Awareness and Outreach Programme in connection with “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” and as part of Legal Services Week, which began on November 8 and concluded today.
The rally started from the District Court Building in Khliehriat East and ended at the campus of the office of the Deputy Commissioner. It was attended by C Dkhar, District and Sessions Judge cum Chair of the District Legal Services Authority, SS Syiemlieh, Additional Deputy Commissioner, N Momin, Chief Judicial Magistrate cum Secretary of the District Legal Services Authority, and B Kharbithai, Judicial Magistrate First Class.
Among others who also took part in the rally were the members of the Khliehriat Bar Association, students of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya School, Rymbai, and Little Flower Secondary School, Khliehriat, who carried banners and placards with messages on the right to free legal aid, human rights and access to justice.
