The officers and staff of Raj Bhavan today held a condolence meeting at Raj Bhavan, Shillong to mourn the untimely demise of Suman Chauhan, daughter of Governor Phagu Chauhan, who passed away today at AIIMS, New Delhi.
The proceedings were led by the Principal Secretary to the Governor, Harish Chandra Chaudhary in the presence of the Chief Electoral Officer, Dr. B. D. R. Tiwari.
A floral tribute and two minutes’ silence was observed for the departed soul.
Married to Gyanendra Singh Chauhan, Suman was undergoing treatment for cancer for last three months. Her last rites will be held tomorrow at her native place Prayagraj (Allahabad), Uttar Pradesh.
She is survived by her husband, a son and a daughter.
