Irked by frequent power cuts and irregular supply of power the Khasi Student Union (KSU), Nongpoh circle will hold a public rally in Nongpoh on August 2.
Circle president Baiashanlang Kharshanlor said the rally is to protest against the state government and the Meghalaya Energy Corporation Limited (MeECL) failure to address the issue that has affected the living conditions of the people, especially in the district headquarter, despite various pleas.
Kharshanlor said the district has endured severe power outages, which has affected students, business establishments and others.
He informed that the rally will commence from NSCA, Mini Stadium in Pahamsyiem and conclude at the campus of the SDO MeECL Nongpoh Division at Umlyngkdait.
