Unidentified persons hurled a petrol bomb at a police escort here today.
The incident happened at around 7:30 pm in Demthring area under Madanrting police station, police said.
The police team was escorting a NEEPCO official to Laitkor when a group of bikers threw a petrol bomb while the vehicle was stationary in traffic.
No one was injured in the incident as the occupants of the police escort managed to put off the fire.
Police have registered a case and investigation is on.
