The Meghalaya government has declared that all state government offices and educational institutions falling under Sohiong Assembly constituency will remain closed on May 10, 2023 to enable voters to exercise their franchise in connection with deferred legislative election there.
Industrial undertaking or any of the establishments governed by Negotiable Instruments Act 1881, shops and those that work on shift basis, daily wages, casual workers including those working outside the constituency shall be entitled to the benefit of a paid holiday as provided in Section 135B of the Representation of the People Act 1951.
