Shillong, May 5: Nongsder SSA LP School celebrated its golden jubilee, marking 50 remarkable years of service in the field of education, showcasing the school’s rich history and the progress it has made since its establishment in 1976.
Initially sponsored by the District Council, the school started with 30 students and a teacher. Over the years, it has grown steadily and now has 77 students and two teachers, functioning under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan framework.
Education Minister Lahkmen Rymbui who attended the celebration as the chief guest, stressed the importance of hard work and a positive mindset among students. He reminded them that success should not be limited to traditional government roles but also to skill development and practical learning. He encouraged parents to actively guide their children, nurturing their skills and values.
In response to the school’s needs, the minister assured the management committee that further discussions would be held to address priority requirements and extend necessary support.
The program also featured colorful cultural performances by students, making the jubilee celebration a memorable occasion for the community.
Local MDC Shemborlang Rynjah, the SDSEO, and the SDO of Pynursla civil sub-division, alongside the headmistress, teachers, parents, stakeholders, and students were also present.
