The workshop, under the guidance of Sujit Kumar Mohanty, Centre Coordinator, Department of Fashion Communication was a resounding success. With the active support of department faculty members M Blah and Natalie Diengdoh, the workshop aimed to introduce students to the world of calligraphy, emphasising the significance of design elements in the art form and its application in modern communication and branding.
D Udaya Kumar, with his vast experience and expertise in design, provided valuable insights into the intricate details of calligraphy. Students were given hands-on training and were encouraged to explore the creative possibilities of this ancient art, which blends visual aesthetics with textual elements. The workshop not only focused on skill-building but also highlighted the importance of calligraphy as a powerful tool for branding, logo design, and visual communication in the contemporary design industry.
Mohanty, while addressing the participants, emphasized the role of workshops like these in nurturing creativity and design thinking in young minds. He stated, “Calligraphy is not just an art; it is a fundamental aspect of design that enhances the aesthetic appeal of communication.
