Continuing its efforts to increase accessibility of Aadhaar services in Meghalaya, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) opened a new Aadhaar Seva Kendra (ASK) in Shillong.

Operated by UIDAI, the Aadhaar Seva Kendra (ASK) is now operational at Lumsohphoh Block 6, Fire Brigade, Near P Marbaniang Petrol Pump. The ASK was previously located near the Rynjah Dispensary but has now been shifted to the present location keeping in view of the accessibility and convenience of the public, a press release stated today.
This centre can process up to 250 Aadhaar enrolment and update requests per day. Individuals can avail Aadhaar related services like Aadhaar enrolment and updation of address, name, gender, date of birth, mobile number, email and biometric details (photo, fingerprints & iris scan).

The Deputy Director General of the UIDAI Regional Office in Guwahati, Ngachan Zimik, visited the newly opened ASK in Shillong where he interacted with the staff and individuals who visited the centre to avail various Aadhaar-related services.

Individuals can book an appointment through UIDAI’s appointment portal bookappointment.uidai.gov.in or use the mAadhaar app and choose a date and time as per their convenience. The ASK operates seven days a week, barring public holidays.

Individuals are requested to bring original documents for enrolment/update as original documents are scanned and given back to the individuals after completion of the enrolment/update request. One can find the list of acceptable documents on uidai.gov.in/images/commdoc/List_of_Supporting_Document_for_Aadhaar_Enrolment_and_Update.pdf

Aadhaar enrolment and Mandatory Biometric Update (MBU) between the ages of 5 and 17 are free of cost.
