New containment orders have been issued by the Deputy Commissioner of South West Khasi Hills to fight the spread of Covid-19.
The houses and compounds of Sumarlin Syiemlieh in Rangthong village and the whole of Kolomboit village have all been declared as containment areas.
Meanwhile, the village-wide containment order for Jongksha was lifted today by the East Khasi Hills District Magistrate.
Isawanda Laloo informed that, as 78 of the 86 infected people there have recovered from Covid-19, the village will no longer be a containment zone. However, the homes of the eight still infected will be micro-containment areas.
