New containment orders have been issued by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Mairang civil sub-division and Deputy Commissioners of West Jaintia Hills and South West Khasi Hills to fight the spread of Covid-19.
The whole village of Umthlong has been declared as a containment area in order to be able to undertake necessary Covid tests of high-risk contacts there. The containment will apply until further orders.
Mudop locality and Dong Iaw in Nartiang have also been contained in West Jaintia Hills.
In South West Khasi Hills, the DC there ordered that the house and compound of Baleisha Sangma in Balat and Tishinroy Shylla in Nonglang be contained.
