The North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (NEIGRIHMS) today celebrated its 15th annual day and graduation ceremony for MBBS and nursing students.
NEIGRIHMS Dean Prof. Animesh Mishra congratulated the graduate students and asked them to incorporate empathy in their future medical profession. He also administered the physician’s pledge to the medical students.
Director Prof. Nalin Mehta emphasised the importance leaders in providing best of platforms for the future medical professionals. He congratulated the graduates and expressed his confidence that they will serve the nation in future with best of healthcare practices.
Padma Shri awardee and eminent urologist Prof. Mahendra Bhandari, CEO of the Vattikuti Foundation who attended the function as the chief guest was conferred with the prestigious India Gandhi Oration and delivered a talk on “Future of Surgery”.
Prof. Bhandari ignited the young mind with futuristic approach of combining artificial intelligence and predicative models in redefining the surgeries and medical treatments. Addressing the students after the oration he advised the graduates to be confident and transform the world with knowledge by directing the energy in consistent and selfless fashion.
Prof. Ashok Puranik Executive Director AIIMS Guwahati applauded the students for achieving the first milestone in the career and insisted on integrating humanity and respect for human life during the medical profession.
Both the guests conferred scrolls to the newly graduated medical and nursing students and also awarded various prizes for the academic and scientific events which were held as a part of annual day celebration.
