Major General Rajesh Kumar Jha, Director (Personnel), NEEPCO, has been awarded ‘Bar to Ati Vishisht Sewa Medal’ for his distinguished service of exceptional by President Droupadi Murmu.
Jha is the proud recipient of AVSM for the second time. The first AVSM was awarded to him on January 26, 2021 while he was serving with India’s Strategic Forces Command.
He dedicates both his awards to his dream team of soldiers, JCOs and officers who worked tirelessly to achieve the organisational goals.
Jha, joined as Director (Personnel) of NEEPCO on September 25, 2023.
Born in 1965 in Bihar, Jha began his journey into the uniformed forces in 1985 and was commissioned into the Corps of Engineers. In an illustrious career spanning over 37 years, he has had many unique and outstanding professional tenures.
As part of his professional journey, he has completed all the mandatory professional courses and appointments with great distinction. Chief among them being the prestigious Staff Course from DSSC Wellington, Higher Command Course from Army War College, Mhow, and Commanding a Mountain Division.
He was also closely involved in operations both tactical and strategic in nature in multicultural and hostile environments like that of Maldives in 1998 and United Nations Peacekeeping missions in Sierra Leone or as the Commander of Land Based Strategic Assets of our nation spearheading the National Strategic Programme involving units of strategic and operational significance and the offices of PMO and Ministry of Defence.
He has also the distinction of being the Defence & Military Adviser at High Commission of India, United Kingdom during the years 2014-2017.
