Nearly 6,000 people have been affected by heavy rain and floods in Meghalaya since April 1, it was revealed today.
The information came via a report from the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA). According to the data, 5,920 people have been affected by the bad weather and one person died as a result across some 300 villages.
The SDMA also said that 1,495 houses as well as other buildings, including schools and anganwadi centres, were damaged.
