NCC cadets from different parts of the state participating at the ongoing Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC) were exposed to various activities aim to boost their morale and develop their personality and leadership qualities.
A lecture on “Career Opportunities in Hotel Management and Hospitality Industry” was held for the cadets, which was conducted by Dr. Ashok Kumar, Senior Lecturer and Vijay Kumar, Ex Principal and Senior Consultant of Institute of Hotel Management, Shillong.
To enlighten the cadets on adventure sports like rowing, scuba diving and para gliding, a special lecture was given by (Retd) Maj KI Singh of the Meghalaya Rowing and Water sports Association where training for the National Level Rowing Competition is ongoing.
Exposure lecture on mountaineering was also delivered by Meghalaya mountaineer, Wallambok Lyngdoh. He also spoke about the Mountaineering Sport Climbing & Mountaineering Association, a Governing Council Member of Indian Mountaineering Foundation.
Brig Vijayant Mahadik, Group Cdr, NCC Group HQ Shillong also visited the camp. He motivated the cadets to take keen part in the training and to try to be the best version. He also visited the living area of the cadets, cook house, camp Office and MI Room during his visit.
The camp is being organised by the 61st Meghalaya Girls Battalion of the National Cadets Corps, Shillong at 58 Gorkha Training Centre in Happy Valley and will conclude on September 27.
