National Lok Adalat was today held across Meghalaya in which 287 cases were settled and an amount of Rs 1.23 crore was settled.
The number of cases taken up at the Lok Adalat was 1508, out of which, 936 are Pre-Litigation cases and 572 pending cases.
Held under the aegis of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) the National Lok Adalat was organised in all the districts of the State, except North Garo Hills district. It was held under the supervision of the Justice R. V. More also the Executive Chairman of the Meghalaya State Legal Services Authority.
