Leader of the Opposition and former Chief Minister Dr Mukul Sangma paid a visit to the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Chokpot, South Garo Hills, yesterday.
The visit was part of his ongoing effort to understand the ground realities and assess the issues faced by both healthcare facilities and the general public in remote areas.
Dr Sangma interacted with the doctors, nurses and staff of the CHC and appreciated their commitment and dedication in delivering healthcare services under challenging circumstances. He also encouraged the medical team to conduct regular Hospital Management Committee (HMC) meetings to ensure better coordination and address operational challenges more effectively.
During the visit, Dr Sangma took note of various concerns shared by the staff and local citizens and assured his full support and cooperation in pursuing appropriate measures to resolve the issues. He reiterated the need for responsive governance and efficient service delivery, particularly in underserved regions like Chokpot.
