The Meghalaya Urban Development Authority (MUDA) has halted alleged illegal construction in Them Ïewmawlong, acting on a recent complaint by the Hynñiewtrep National Youth Front (HNYF).
The HNYF had questioned how new construction could take place when the relocation of residents of the entire area is currently under process.
Pressure group leader Bless Dkhar said that the construction was erected behind Thangkhiew Petrol Pump.
MUDA conducted an inspection and found that the construction of the building had begun without taking prior permission from the authority.
