Shillong MP Ricky AJ Syngkon met with Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu on August 3 in New Delhi, it was informed by the Voice of the People Party (VPP) today.
Syngkon met the Union minister to find out the status of the Shillong airport at Umroi and to apprise Naidu that the Shillong-Silchar-Agartala flight has been halted despite a good number of passengers flying on it.
This route was one of several launched in recent years under the central government’s UDAN regional connectivity scheme.
