Shillong, Feb 28: The National People’s Party (NPP) has appointed senior leader Mmhonlumo Kikon from Nagaland as its new National General Secretary (Political).
NPP National President Conrad K. Sangma in a notification said Kikon has been entrusted with a critical political coordination role across the Northeastern states.
The appointment was made in exercise of the powers vested under Article I1 of the NPP constitution and in furtherance of the objectives, principles and organisational mandate of the party.
Kikon has been entrusted to continue structured coordination and dialogue with various political parties and stakeholders across the Northeastern states for strategic alignment and consultations towards the realisation of the vision of “One Northeast.” He has been assigned to coordinate and hold dialogue with political parties and stakeholders across the Northeast to advance strategic alliances and consultations.
Kikon has also been tasked to hold regular consultations with MPs, MLAs, and other elected representatives of the party to ensure policy coherence and unified political messaging.
Additionally, he will design and supervise political programmes, conventions, consultations, and outreach initiatives to expand the party’s presence and influence.
