Meghalaya continued to reel under high temperatures, with the Umiam station of the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) recording a high of 32 degrees Celsius there today.
This was 3.3 C higher than the norm. The maximum in Shillong was 26.8 C, 5 degrees above normal.
Temperatures are likely to be on the high side for Monday as well, with only scattered showers likely in the state. Heavier rain is predicted by July 3, though IMD forecasts are fluid and may change closer to the actual date.
