An interactive session on Mental Health and stress Management Techniques was organised under NAHEP-IDP by the Department of Human Development and Family Studies, College of Community Science, CAU (I), Tura.
Associate Professor and Founding Head of Department of Psychology, Cotton University, Guwahati, Dr. Dimpy Mahanta attended the session as the resource person.
During the session, Dr. Mahanta touched upon various important elements related to mental health and stress management viz-a-viz reasons and determinants of mental health, challenges faced by young adults, early warning signs of poor mental health, types of mental disorders, stress and its management techniques amongst others.
Various activities for stress management like guided meditation, mind toughness activity, thought-stopping activity, etc. for building resilience were conducted during the session followed by an interaction.
A total of 96 participants attended the session, including all UG and PG students, and faculty of the college.
