President of the state Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Ernest Mawrie has appointed two new general secretaries for the Meghalaya unit, it was announced today.
Lakhon Biam, an MDC in the Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council, and George Clarence Nongbet will be the new general secretaries.
Edmund K Sangma, a former MLA, was also appointed as chief spokesperson for the Meghalaya BJP and Ankur Kumar as the new media convenor.
Dipayan Chakraborty, a state BJP vice-president, will continue as overall in-charge of the media department.
