The Reserve Bank of India, Shillong, conducted the district level quiz for Class 8-10 students of East Khasi Hills here today, with children from Kendriya Vidyalaya Happy Valley winning the contest.
The quiz was held as part of the RBI’s All India Quiz on Financial Literacy 2023. The seven teams of two students each representing various government schools who won at the block level participated in the quiz.
The quiz was conducted with a motive to give further impetus to financial literacy efforts and fulfil the vision of creating a financially aware and empowered India. The quiz was held in five rounds comprising state-related questions, general economy and finance, RBI-related questions, other regulator and financial institutions and lastly G20-related questions.
Kendriya Vidyalaya Happy Valley emerged as the winners and will represent East Khasi Hills in the state level round of the quiz. Prior to this, RBI Shillong has successfully concluded the district level rounds of the quiz for the other 11 districts of the state.
The winners, first runners-up and second runners-up were awarded with prize money of Rs 10,000, Rs 7,500 and Rs 5,000 respectively, while the other teams were felicitated with participation certificates.
The winners from the respective districts will compete at the state and zonal level rounds and the exercise will culminate with a national level quiz.
